Winterizing procedures depend on your RV’s plumbing, water heater, appliances, and climate. Gather the manufacturer’s instructions and identify every water-holding component before starting. If the procedure is unclear, have a qualified RV service provider perform it and document the work.
List everything that holds water
Beyond tanks and faucets, check the manual for outside showers, filter housings, water heaters, ice makers, washing machines, and other accessories. An overlooked component can remain vulnerable even when the main lines are prepared.
Choose the manufacturer-approved procedure
Do not mix advice from different rigs into one improvised method. Follow the specified drain, bypass, and protection instructions and the approved materials for potable-water plumbing.
Finish the storage plan
Address batteries, tires, seals, pests, ventilation, and access according to the relevant manuals. Label the rig with what was winterized and what must be reversed before using the water system again.
